The mechanics of manufacture
At ADM we ensure that magical ideas turn into successful promotional products and campaigns that drive sales and add value to a client’s brand. On budget, on brand, on time, in full.
To achieve this we work very hard on:

We’ve been buying Promotional products and POS successfully for over 15 years now. Our representation in the Far East is second to none. We have dedicated buying teams in Asia, and an artwork studio, innovation and product engineering centre in Hong Kong. Critically, we have Social Compliance and Quality Control operations throughout China, managed out of Hong Kong.
However, we don’t just source in Asia. We also have a specialist, strategic procurement unit in Europe to source and manage our overall buying of products from across Europe. In addition, given the complexity of the glasswear procurement business, we have a dedicated specialist-sourcing unit for this category.
However buying resource is only part of the ADM procurement story. As part of the Polyconcept Group, the largest promotional products manufacturing company worldwide, we enjoy formidable buying power. No surprise therefore that our clients enjoy the benefits of ADM’s negotiating power in terms of both raw material and production costs. One reason why, in the last year alone companies like Diageo, Castrol and FIFA have awarded ADM their long-term business.
ADM has a team of qualified product engineers in Hong Kong who work with both our designers and manufacturers to ensure products are manufactured to the right specifications and quality. And then delivered on time, on budget. Our engineering expertise covers everything from electronics to plastic extrusion to metal and includes final packaging solutions to ensure products are delivered to the same quality they left the factory.
It’s every client’s nightmare: the promotion that isn’t ready on time. But with tailor made IT project management systems and client specific “front desks”, staffed by people who know their stuff, we’re able to deliver promotions on time, time after time.
The front line at ADM, the client focussed account management teams based in local markets have real experience of the manufacturing processes involved in different products. You won’t have to wait for days while we find out the manufacturing position from a third party – because we already understand the requirements, what is and more importantly, what is not possible.
They also have the distinct advantage of working with ADM’s specialist buying and QA/QC teams in Asia. We deliberately structure our buying operations according to specific product categories and disciplines. Not for us the “jack of all trades, master of none” operations process. We believe clients have the right to talk to people at ADM who can provide real insight to the development, sourcing and manufacturing of a particular promotion.
All the ideas and manufacturing capabilities in the world will not be of any use at all if your promotion doesn’t match the quality expectations of your customers. Worse, a poorly executed promotion can seriously dent the overall positioning and consumer perceptions of a brand. No surprise therefore that ADM has a dedicated in-house QA/QC group that manages quality assurance and quality control. Day after day.
ADM’s specialist QC team numbering 35, are based throughout China with overall management in Hong Kong. They use proprietary ADM systems, to make sure that quality is constantly monitored and checked at sample, production (on-line) and finally, post production packing and shipping stages. From the first factory survey to the final inspection, we stay on top of quality control. Our commitment to our clients is very clear. To meet and exceed all applicable legislation on product and social compliance.
In summary, we check and monitor:
Factory Social/Compliance Audit
Product Sample Evaluation
Product Planning
Pre-production Testing
In line Product Production Inspection
Final Product Inspection prior to shipping
A good idea is not a good idea until it gets made…and a good idea that gets made is worthless until it’s delivered.
At ADM we understand the importance of an efficient logistics process to ensure that our clients’ products are delivered On Time In Full (OTIF), and their promotional activity is therefore never jeapordised.
To ‘deliver’ on this, we have a dedicated in-house logistics team and, in addition, leverage the Polyconcept Group logistics experience and strengths to ensure best selection of logistics partner, services required, rates, timing, and vessels. In addition, we also have client specific logistics and operations teams in place in local markets where required.
The result:
Overall, the Polyconcept Group including ADM deliver in excess of 400 million promotional products per year to over 100 global markets. OTIF. Our significant global footprint also gives us the opportunity to offer a variety of delivery terms including FOB, CIF, DDU and DDP. And with over 20 years industry experience, our logistics teams can advise clients on local market product restrictions and documentation requirements.
Brand Catalogue Logistics:
ADM manage multiple Brand Catalogues for some of our global clients. These catalogues establish specific order windows to enable multiple markets to participate at the same time and therefore benefit from the consolidation of orders in terms of volume savings. Savings generated as a result of combining production and shipping volumes.
This also requires a robust logistics backbone to ensure that multiple orders and volumes can be delivered to individual markets at the same time (container utilisation). No easy task, but one ADM is well versed in executing. Indeed, at any one time ADM manage and operate in excess of 20 brand catalogues, managed through 3 consolidation hubs in Shanghai, Rotterdam and Dubai.
